​Course Objectives:

1. Perform as a vocal soloist and in a vocal ensemble, using a proper vocal tone, a variety of musical styles, languages and genres.

2. Read music using various methods, with emphasis on Solfège, Curwin Handsigns and standard rhythmic counting.

3. Create music using appropriate notation, language and symbols.

4. Demonstrate appropriate rehearsal, concert, and audience behavior.

5. Understand and practice proper care and maintenance of your vocal instrument.

6. Recognize and understand music's connection to history and culture.

7. Evaluate and respond to music using appropriate music language and terminology.
